In my high school years, I took a dislike for writing poetry. I didn’t have the understanding or skill to write poems that could tell the story I wanted, but now I have taken up an interest in trying again. One type of poetry I did understand and enjoy in terms of writing was limericks. So for my first go at taking up poetry again, I decided to start with that.
The Possum the Ant and the Shrew
The possum the ant and the shrew
Came upon a hammer and screw
Possum tried at the hammer
Scared the shrew with the clamor
And ran with the ant under-shoe
